TRIBUTE TO VICTORIA DE LOS ANGELES

Fauré’s Requiem is no danse macabre, rather a gradual journey towards light and resurrection. Curiously, its harmonies
fit comfortably into the fauve atmosphere of La Damoiselle Élue and Ravel’s Schéhérazade. Finally, all negative strains
are dispelled by the vivaciousness of the amorous angels in the Greek Melodies. The enchanting voice of Victoria de Los
Angeles is in turn seraphic, disquieting and limpid in timbre.
