Friedrich Gulda (1930-2000) : Mozart, Weber, Strauss

In stock

Gulda gave his Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 20, and was soon regarded as one of the most important interpreters of the postwar period, playing his groundbreaking interpretation of the complete Beethoven sonatas which already showed his distinctively sparing use of pedal, accentuated bass lines, grand legato, and percussive use of the keyboard, like Glenn Gould (two years his junior). His piano students include Martha Argerich, who called Gulda ‘my most important influence’, and the famous conductor Claudio Abbado (1933-2014)
