Mily Alexeyevich BALAKIREV (1837-1910) : Russian Symphonies (I)

A logical albeit rare association of symphonies by the composer of Islamey and Tamara, the ornerstone of
the famous Mighty Five. As Glinka’s protégé he was somewhat hampered by imperial obligations. His own
protégés, Moussorgsky and Borodine, revealed their true genius. In this album two prestigious conductors
do them justice.
