Charles Münch : A STRASBURGER IN BOSTON

In stock

An exhibition of French musical pictures immortalised by Charles Münch (1891-1968), who succeeded Serge Koussevitzky as conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. It comprises unpublished works as well as historic recordings which have lost none of their intoxicating power, such as César Franck’s frenzied hunt, Debussy’s (not so gallant) Fêtes or Ravel’s famous brooding waltz, a tribute to three centuries of Viennese imperial splendour.
